Features of high-speed ball bearings
1. Use grease developed by NSK with excellent seizure resistance.
By using the grease developed exclusively by NSK, poor lubrication due to heat can be suppressed, and the service life can be extended compared to conventional greases.
2. Development of new shape cage
By reducing the thickness of the front end of the cage and the lightweight design, the influence of centrifugal force is reduced. At the same time, by improving the rigidity of the bottom of the cage, the deformation of the cage during high-speed rotation can be suppressed.

3. Development of high-rigidity resin materials for cages
In order to suppress the deformation of the cage during high-speed rotation, a resin material with excellent heat resistance and rigidity has been successfully developed. This resin material can greatly reduce the deformation of the cage due to the influence of centrifugal force during high-speed rotation.
Through the application of NSK's exclusively developed grease and newly developed resin cage, this product can achieve dmN*1=1.4 million high-speed rotation conditions (bearing inner diameter: 35mm; speed: 30000rpm).
Effect of the developed product
This high-speed ball bearing is currently the ball bearing with the highest limit speed in the world*2. The successful development of this product has provided the possibility for a substantial increase in the speed of the electric vehicle drive motor. At the same time, by improving the efficiency of the drive motor, the drive motor can be miniaturized and lightened, which contributes to reducing the energy consumption of electric vehicles, extending the cruising range, and improving driving comfort. It is scheduled to release bearings (dmN value 1.6 million) that can meet the needs of higher speeds at the end of 2020.
