Commonly used positioning method of bearing ring

1. Positioning of bearing inner ring
When installing the inner ring of the bearing on the shaft, the position of the bearing is generally fixed on one side of the shaft shoulder, and the other side is fixed with a nut, a stop washer or a spring ring. The dimensions of the contact part of the shaft shoulder and the axial fixed parts with the inner ring of the bearing can be determined according to the installation dimensions of the various bearings listed in the bearing size table.


(1) Nut positioning
When the bearing rotates at a high speed and bears a large axial load, the end face of the nut and the inner ring of the bearing should be perpendicular to the rotation center line of the shaft. Otherwise, even if the nut is tightened, the installation position of the bearing and the normal working condition of the bearing will be damaged, and the rotation accuracy and service life of the bearing will be reduced. Especially when the fit between the inner bore of the bearing and the shaft is a loose fit, strict control is required.


In order to prevent the nut from loosening during rotation, appropriate technical measures must be taken to prevent loosening. Use the nut and the stop washer to locate, put the inner key teeth of the stop washer into the keyway of the shaft, and then bend one of the teeth on the outer ring into the notch of the nut.


(2) Spring retainer positioning
In the case that the bearing bears little axial load, the speed is not high, the shaft is short and it is difficult to process the thread on the journal, the elastic retaining ring with a rectangular section can be used for positioning. This method is convenient for loading and unloading, occupies a small space, and is simple to manufacture.


(3) Positioning of thrust washer

When the journal is short, it is difficult to process threads on the journal, the bearing speed is high, and the axial load is large, the washer can be used for positioning, that is, the washer is used for positioning on the shaft end surface with more than two screws. The stop washer or wire is tightened to prevent loosening.

(4) Adapter sleeve positioning
The bearing speed is not high, and the spherical roller bearing that bears a smooth radial load and a small axial load can be installed on the optical axis with the aid of a tapered adapter sleeve. The adapter sleeve is positioned with a nut and a stop washer. Use the friction force of the nut to tighten the adapter sleeve to locate the bearing.


(5) Bearing positioning with taper inner hole
Bearings with a taper inner hole are installed on the taper shaft. The shaft and the bearing need to be tightened against the axial load. Therefore, attention should be paid to the directionality of the inner hole taper when installing. If the bearing is located at the end of the shaft and is allowed to be machined into threads at the end of the shaft, it can be positioned directly with a nut.
If the bearing is not installed on the shaft end, and the shaft is not allowed to be machined into threads. In this case, the combined threaded ring can be clamped into the groove of the shaft, and then the nut can be used to locate the bearing.


(6) Special positioning
In some special cases, when the shoulder and fillet dimensions of the shaft cannot be determined according to the installation dimensions listed in this catalog, transition gaskets can be used as the axial support.


2. Positioning of bearing outer ring
When the outer ring of the bearing is installed in the housing hole, the inner side of the housing hole generally has a shoulder to fix the bearing, and the other side is positioned with an end cover, a threaded ring, and an elastic retaining ring for the hole.


(1) End cap positioning
End cover positioning is used for all types of radial bearings and angular contact bearings, and is used when the bearing speed is high and the axial load is large. The end cover uses screws to locate and compress the outer ring of the bearing, and the end cover can also be made into a labyrinth sealing device.


(2) Thread ring positioning

If the bearing speed is high and the axial load is large, and the end cover is not suitable for positioning, the threaded ring can be used to position the centripetal bearing and the thrust bearing. At this time, it can be used to adjust the axial clearance of the bearing.


(3) Positioning of elastic retaining ring
This positioning method occupies a small axial position, is convenient to install and disassemble, and is simple to manufacture, and is suitable for places that bear small axial loads. An adjustment ring is added between the bearing and the spring to facilitate adjustment of the axial position.


(4) Deep groove ball bearings with a stop groove on the outer ring of the bearing can be positioned with a stop ring.
This type is used when the stop shoulder cannot be processed in the housing hole due to conditions, or the part must be reduced in outline size.
